Maxim Ludwig & The Santa Fe Seven

This is why I go to SXSW. Bands like Maxim Ludwig & The Santa Fe Seven. Never heard of them until this morning when I was checking the lineup for the Sin City Party at Maria’s Taco Xpress. And now their music has been on repeat all day. Varied and restless, Ludwig’s songs comfortably fit in the spectrum of country rock from Gram Parsons to Wilco, with forays into Springsteen, do-wop, guitar freak-out, and strangled-voice, beer-soaked ballads. Press on Ludwig pegs him as a frenzied performer which truly makes this a must see. I expect you’ll be hearing more about Ludwig and band in the future. This track is unreleased.
